This Week’s Best Deals: Get ’Em Before They’re Gone

This Week’s Best Deals: Get ’Em Before They’re Gone

With just two days left before they change over, here is a list of sales that you should utilize before they're gone:

Walgreens:

  • Huggies Wipes:  Our viewer Sara found Huggies 216 pack of wipes at Walgreens this week for $1.49!  They are on sale for $5.99, then use the $2 off Walgreens coupon from the August coupon book. You can also use code 5519 to get the $2 off from the infant care booklet (the actual books are no longer available in stores).  Also use the $1 off 2 Huggies manufacturer coupon from the Sunday paper (2 weeks ago I think).  They will accept both Walgreens coupons as their policy states that you may use 1 mf coupon and all applicable coupon(s)!

Farmers & Artisans to Host Author and Chef Jake Brach

Farmers & Artisans to Host Author and Chef Jake Brach

Chef Jake Brach, regional culinary manager for Rich Products and author of the book “The Sustainable Chef — Cooking with the Farmers of New York State,” will be signing copies of his book from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 25, at Farmers & Artisans, 78 East Spring St., Williamsville. Guests that evening will also be treated to food demonstrations and will have an opportunity to sample recipes featured in Brach’s book.

In “The Sustainable Chef,” Brach tells the story of eight small family farms, sharing recipes from each and highlighting beautiful photos from around the state. The book would make a great gift for any cooking or food enthusiast.

Give Your College-bound Student a Little Reminder of WNY

Give Your College-bound Student a Little Reminder of WNY

You’ve visited the campus, paid the tuition, purchased the necessary books for the fall semester, bought new clothes and packed the necessary dorm room supplies. It’s official: your son or daughter is college bound. And while it may not happen to your child, parents should not be surprised if their student suffers from a little homesickness, especially if it’s his or her first time away from the comforts of home.

Should you receive such a call, there are things a parent can do, such as encouraging your child to get out of their room and spend some time with other students who may be experiencing the same feelings. And, there’s nothing like getting a package from home — one that features a little taste of Western New York — that lets your child know that they’re never really far away.
