Amherst Chamber to Host Downsizing Dialogue Tonight

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is holding a “Downsizing Dialogue” tonight with members of the Amherst Town Board and town residents who are interested in expressing their thoughts on the issue of downsizing the Town Board.

The discussion will take place at the Amherst Chamber’s office located at 350 Essjay Rd., Suite 200 in Williamsville from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.  The event will be an opportunity to discuss the impact of downsizing on taxes and services provided not only for residents of the Town, but the business community as well.  The “Downsizing Dialogue” is free and open to all town residents and community members.

Dissolution Vote: Have You Seen The Signs?

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - A few weeks away from a village dissolution vote there are several signs in Williamsville in support of the village.

Kevin Gaughan, who has successfully organized downsizing efforts in other Western New York communities, has collected enough signatures to hold village dissolution votes in Williamsville and Sloan.

Both referendums will take place on Tuesday, August 17th.

All across the Village of Williamsville, signs advocating Village Life can been seen in businesses and front lawns.

Someone even placed an "I Love Williamsville" sign in the tree carving statue of Frank Lloyd Wright, in front of Village Hall on Main Street.

How do you feel about the dissolution effort? Post a comment below in order to share your thoughts.
