Custom Menswear Line Launches in WNY

Two Buffalo-based menswear companies announce partnership to offer bespoke option

(Buffalo, NY) Bloodline Handmade, a bespoke men’s tailoring company that is headquartered in Amherst, New York, officially launched their menswear line tonight, with a ribbon cutting and unveiling at the Lexus Club located inside the First Niagara Center.

At the event, Bloodline Handmade announced its partnership with the J Norman men’s shop located inside the Tony Walker Center in Williamsville, New York.  Bloodline Handmade will be the exclusive men’s suit line available in J Norman & Co., previously known as Tony Walker Men’s Shop.

"J Norman & Co. offers men a shopping experience that is truly unique within Western New York”, said J Norman & Co. Proprietor, Joseph Kreuz. "Partnering with Bloodline Handmade will bring on a new element of service and quality to fit any man's sartorial needs. Our store brings together the top brands and latest trends in the menswear world, and we are excited to be able to provide this new level of luxury shopping to customers.”

Bloodline Handmade was recently founded by Adam March, Dan Valentine and Jason Blood. March and Valentine, local entrepreneurs, both grew up in Tonawanda and graduated from Kenmore East in 1999 and 2001, respectively. March and Valentine started their partnership in 2003 when they opened a collection agency. Since, they have built network of businesses that employ close to 700 people across the country.

Valentine and March’s portfolio includes Audubon Financial Bureau, Debt Management Partners, Raising Buffalo, Valmar Construction, Valmar Development, Valmar Funding, Lux Nightclub, Privato Nightclub, and The Lodge, a ski themed restaurant and bar located in Downtown Buffalo that is set to open in beginning of July. Bloodline Handmade is their most recent business venture.

“Bloodline Handmade was an idea that started when my business partner and I would have to travel to other cities to purchase custom, hand-tailored suits,” said Team Valmar President Adam March. “After a lot of market research, Dan, Jason and I were able to create a business model that allows our company to manufacture everything local and deliver a top-of-the-line product at a fair price point to our customers.”

“Western New York is a great market to launch Bloodline Handmade,” said Team Valmar President Dan Valentine. “Many people in the area have reached out for consultations before our official launch tonight. I’m excited to add Bloodline Handmade to the Valmar network of companies.”

Jason Blood grew up in New York City. His background is in real estate and finance. Blood and March met in 2002 while working in finance in Miami.

“I came to Buffalo with envisions of designing a bespoke men’s suit line, that’s made locally,” said Bloodline Handmade Managing Director Jason Blood. “It has always been a dream of mine to design high-end, high quality men’s clothing. After travelling all over the world, and living in many places, I fell in love with Western New York and I chose to open my business here. Buffalo has a lot of style. It’s my hope that Buffalo-based Bloodline Handmade will become a benchmark of men’s style here and across the country.”

“My ears perked up when I heard that Bloodline Handmade was launching in Western New York,” said Former Executive of British luxury brand Alfred Dunhill and Local Fashion Expert Joseph Incao. “Buffalo is in resurgence. Many professionals are returning home after spending time away in larger cities and they’re looking for a handmade, custom option. Once you have a bespoke clothing item, it’s hard to transition back to off-the-rack menswear. Bloodline Handmade can fulfill that niche.”

After Bloodline Handmade officially cut their ribbon, the company was presented with official proclamations on behalf of New York State Senator Mark Grisanti and New York State Assemblyman Ray Walter. Erie County Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw and Mayor Byron Brown also congratulated Bloodline Handmade.

"My hat goes off to Adam March, Dan Valentine and Jason Blood for opening up a locally owned and operated business," said Senator Grisanti. "I applaud them for having the courage to pursue this venture and provide Western New Yorkers with another small business where people can proudly 'shop local.' Their business plan should lead to great success and I wish them all the best."

"I would encourage folks in Erie County to 'shop local' and support businesses like Bloodline Handmade that are born in Buffalo and keep profits right here in Western New York,” said Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw. “Being a small business owner, I know the challenges of starting a company in this tough economy.  I give Dan, Adam, and Jason a great deal of credit for having the courage and heart to build a business from scratch.  I thank them for making this significant investment in the Buffalo-Niagara region.  On behalf of Erie County taxpayers, I wish them the best in their new venture."

"This is a good time to invest in Buffalo with over 1.7 billion dollars in economic development currently underway,” said Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown. “There is momentum from our neighborhoods to our waterfront with cranes in the air and new jobs being created."

The Bloodline offices are headquartered in Amherst. The Bloodline team plans to offer their handmade line in Western New York as well as select cities around the country.  Clients will have the opportunity to choose fabrics and material that are sourced from all over the world.
