Amherst Chamber Presents Member Success Award
Amherst Chamber Presents Member Success Award

On Tuesday, January 15, 2013 the Amherst Chamber of Commerce presented Dr. Anne Orsene and Hearing Evaluation Services with the Chamber’s 2013 1st Quarter Member Success Showcase Award. The award was given in front of a crowd of 90 people at the Chamber’s Business after Hours event at Corner Bakery Café on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst.  Hearing Evaluation Services was nominated for the award due to their recognition not only in our community but throughout the State for their excellence and expertise, their status as the only non-profit hearing center in New York State and the establishment of a foundation which provides hearing aids and hearing services to low-income individuals or those that are unable to afford it.

Founded in 1981, Hearing Evaluation Services of Buffalo (HES) is the only free standing non-profit audiology practice in the country.  HES is staffed with eight Doctors of Audiology committed to providing superior ethical solutions to hearing or balance impaired individuals in Western New York (WNY).  This is accomplished by pairing highly trained and compassionate staff with top of the line test equipment and advanced hearing device technology.  The organization currently operates out of four HES locations and Dent Neurologic Institute. HES continues to expand its diagnostic services and outreach throughout Western New York.

HES uses the latest test equipment available to ensure accurate testing for infants and children of all ages and provides the highest level of pediatric audiological services available in WNY.  Led by executive director Dr. Anne Orsene HES has collaborated with neurologist, Dr. Lixin Zhang, at the Dent Neurologic Institute to create the Dizziness and Balance Center, which began seeing patients in 2009. This center offers the highest level of service in the region to serve those with dizziness and balance disorders.

In 2006, Hearing Evaluation Services founded the Dr. Ann Stadelmaier Hearing Aid Fund. This Fund, with the assistance of over 30 local Lion’s Clubs, has helped over 150 individuals in financial need obtain a new hearing device and reach their goal of better hearing.

In 2012, Dr. Orsene was appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo to the New York State Hearing Aid Dispensing Advisory Board.  Dr. Orsene hopes to improve the level of dispensing in NYS so that all hearing impaired individuals receive the same high level of audiology care as the patients at HES have always received.  For more information please visit www.HearingEvaluationServices.com.
