A mystery is afoot! Collect the clues and interview a different character suspect at each winery on the trail to solve the murder mystery. Submit your guess at your last winery. Correct guesses will be entered in a drawing to win some great prizes. (You do not need to visit each winery to submit your guess).

"I Never Saw Another Butterfly" All-Girls Performance Puts Spotlight on Holocaust

BUFFALO, NY – For its 2011 spring theatrical production, Buffalo Seminary will present “I Never Saw Another Butterfly." Written by Celeste Raspanti, the play is based on a book of poems and drawings done by the Jewish children of Terezin.

Nichols School Student Composer Wins Honorable Mention at Competition

Nichols School freshman, Jason Zhou, won an Honorable Mention in the First Annual Persis Vehar Competition for Excellence in Composition. Corinne Damerau-Best, Nichols' Director of Choral and General Music for the Middle School, encouraged Jason to submit the sonata he wrote in her composition class as an eighth grader last year.

An event will be held at Canisius College on Tuesday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. and includes a program at the Montante Cultural Center. Jason will have the opportunity to share information about his piano composition and himself. In addition, a CD recording of his work will be made at the Montante Cultural Center and provided to him following the performance.

Find your Inner Tour-Guide, at the Historical Society

There's no time like the present to start volunteering--and the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society is a great place to do it!

We are seeking docent tour guides, volunteers for community outreach programs, assistants for special events and research team members. If you are interested in learning more, join us for free orientation and training sessions this spring. During April and May, we'll be holding several FREE sessions. The dates are Saturdays, April 9, 16, 23, or Saturdays, May 7, 14, 21 -- each session starts at 10 am and goes until 2 pm. We recommended that attendees bring a packed lunch.
