Buffalo Unconference powered by AT&T, an interactive event built to bring together a diverse group of people, so they may share their knowledge on topics they are passionate about through presentations, demos, and open discussions, returned to downtown Buffalo last Saturday (April 16, 2016) by popular demand for its second year. The free conference was open to the public and was hosted at VCAMP Health Accelerator in downtown Buffalo. The more than 250 innovative and creative attendees were encouraged to either participate by presenting on topics such as technology, entrepreneurship, programming, art, music, volunteerism, writing, or virtually any creative subject or sit in the various presentations to learn a new creative skill or passion.  The Buffalo Unconference powered by AT&T organizers curated the talks and categorized them into six different tracks of speakers that ran concurrently and attendees chose which talks to attend. 

VCAMP Health Accelerator was selected as the new home for Buffalo Unconference powered by AT&T because the demand last year to attend called for a larger venue and the organizers wanted to ensure more participants could take part this year.  The space also provided state-of-the-art presentation technology to provide for a more conducive learning experience and allows for members of the innovation community to experience another tech incubator that has grown out of the region’s tech and entrepreneurial resurgence.  

Buffalo Unconference powered by AT&T hosted a wide range of topics, more than 50 in all, from the technical to the artistic. A sampling of subjects that were presented on include: Taking Creative Risks by four time Emmy winner for news producing, Pat Obermeier, Music and Innovation by the drummer that regularly preforms with the internationally renowned artist Moby,  Amazon Cloud Storage, Hidden Keys to High Performance for your Business, Emotional Design, Making a Video Game in 48 hours, and How to start a $295k Successful Crowdfunding Campaign by ThimbleIO. Due to the nice weather portions of the Unconference was hosted outside in Lafayette Square.

He continued “Buffalo Unconference was designed to support entrepreneurship by creating a critical density of people, causing the collision of ideas, which we accomplished.”

Organized by a team of technologists, innovators and entrepreneurs, Buffalo Unconference powered by AT&T  was supported by companies that want to foster technology innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.  The event’s title supporter of the event is AT&T and it is co-sponsored by InfoTech WNY, VCAMP, 19 IDEAS, Startup Grind Buffalo, Startup Weekend Buffalo, Select One Search, Launch NY, ThimbleIO, Algonquin, and Heads Up Display, Inc.
