Botanical prints are huge this summer in jewelry, handbags, shoes as well as pants, jumpsuits, tailored blouses, maxi dresses, caftans, pantsuits and skirts. Floral print trend is feminine yet bold and colorful and there are many ways to add this trend to any woman's wardrobe.

Top floral prints this summer are roses, daffodils, orchids, and daisies. Hot floral colors are pastels as well as bold, bright, vivd colors with the blues and purples are front and center. Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum Hosts 10th Annual Victorian Tea

Step back in time to a period of refinement, elegance, and of course good social etiquette. The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum’s 10th Annual Victorian Tea is a wonderful way to enjoy food and friendship while learning more about this fascinating part of America’s past. This year’s program focuses on Victorian dance, with a special presentation and dance demonstration by the Victorian Dance Society of the Amherst Museum. Enjoy a traditional three-course tea including scones with cream, finger sandwiches, fresh fruits, and assorted desserts. Guests are invited to wear Victorian dress, hats, and bring their favorite tea cup to truly take part in this fun and unique event.

Planet Flop Fights Poverty with Soles

Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity collects new shoes to give relief to the victims of poverty and collects used shoes to support micro-enterprise efforts to eradicate poverty. Sole4souls looks for companies in the apparel and footwear industry to partner with to battle for the lives of people in natural diasters and to combat poverty.

Soles4souls is partnering with Planet Flops who make flip flops made of natural rubber and from every one flipflop purchased one goes to provide footwear to an impoverish adult and/or child in developing nations. It’s called the “Buy one, Give One” campaign. Planet Flop also has the Buy one Plant program that plants a tree in the Brazilian rainforest for every pair of its flip flop sold on its website. Soles4Souls’ other two divisions, Clothes4Souls and Hope4Souls.

Ladies of Charity Hold 10th Annual “Dress for Less” Style Show

Looking to update your closet with some fabulous fall fashions? Come to the Ladies of Charity 11th Annual Dress for Less Style Show and basket raffle. The event will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011.  Doors open at 11a.m in the Hearthstone Manor, located at 333 Dick Road, Depew, NY 14043.

Guest commentator Most Rev. Edward U. Kmiec, D.D., 13th Bishop of Buffalo, will be announcing the price of each donated outfit available for purchase. All the apparel is from “Lots of Clothes” Thrift Store.”  After lunch, participants are able to purchase the clothes featured in the fashion show. The cost for reservations by October 15 is $25 and reservations after that date is $30, lunch is included. All reservations must be received by October 17. Amherst Senior Center Flea Market - Donate and Enjoy!

Is it time to part with that “stuff” you found from sprucing up, redecorating or planning to move? The Amherst Center for Senior Services would love to have your former treasures to sell at their “Flea Market,” a benefit sale at the Center, Friday, July 15, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The Center will accept your saleable used goodies, excluding clothing, weekdays from Friday, July 8, through Thursday, July 14, between 8:30 – 4 p.m. each day.  Sale proceeds will benefit the Senior Center’s programs and services.

Then plan on attending this sale featuring anything and everything else you’ve always wanted to own! Admission is free and open to the public, so there’s no excuse not to drop by.
