EGGERTSVILLE, NY - An Eggertsville family is being helped by relatives after an overnight fire forced them from their home.
The fire broke out inside of a wall in the front room of 107 Woodcrest Drive around 3 o'clock Monday morning.
"The resident was awoken by some smoke coming from the front of the house. He got everyone out and they were able to call 911, evacuate to their meeting place and wait for emergency crews to arrive," said Eggertsville Hose Company Fire Chief John Buttino.
Firefighters found visible flames and smoke throughout the ranch home when they arrived. They were able to bring the fire under control quickly and salvage a bulk of the family's belongings.
A damage amount from the fire is still being tabulated. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Amherst Fire Investigator.
No one was hurt.
An Eggertsville Fire Captain was wearing a helmet camera when he arrived on scene. They uploaded the video to YouTube. You can watch it below.
