Work Put on Hold at Amherst Hotel Site

BUFFALO, N.Y. - A State Supreme court judge has placed a temporary injunction on a Amherst hotel project.

Judge John Michalski's Wednesday morning ruling prohibits Iskalo Development from continuing work at a Hyatt Place hotel on Main Street, near Interstate 290 until August 20th, at the earliest. That's when both sides will be back in court.

Residents in the Snyder neighborhood near the planned hotel filed suit to prevent the construction of the multi floor hotel. Neighbors say they are concerned hotel guests would be able to see into their yards.

Attorney Richard Berger argued an injunction was needed because by the time the case could be heard in court, the project might be near completion.
