Winter Market Continues to Grow at Horsefeathers

The popular Winter Market at Horsefeathers continues from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday with a wide variety of local vendors, entertainment and more!

Located at 346 Connecticut St. on Buffalo’s West Side, the Winter Market continues to add new vendors. Several vendors rotate from week to week, so be sure to stop by every Saturday to see what surprises might be in store. Entertaining shoppers from 10 to 11:30 a.m. this Saturday will be the musical duet of Dan and Leanne.

London’s Lifestyle Home Show Will be Bursting With Fresh Ideas

Looking to change things up in your home — a little or a lot? Need some fresh new ideas for the new year? Then visit nearby London, Ontario, from Jan. 25-27 for the annual Lifestyle Home Show!

Bursting with great ideas, this annual event highlights everything that falls under the lifestyle umbrella. Featuring the newest trends and cutting-edge technology, the three-day show boasts approximately 350 exhibitors, nearly 20,000 visitors and over 120,000 square feet of floor space. Presented by the London Home Builders’ Association, guests  will be treated to home- and garden-related exhibitors, seminars, contests, celebrity guests and much more.

4-H Informational Meeting Tonight at East Amherst Fire Hall

Erie County Legislator Edward Rath and Cornell Cooperative Extension – Erie County are pleased to announce that an informational meeting to highlight the many exciting programs available through 4-H will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at East Amherst Fire Company, 9100 Transit Road, East Amherst, NY, 14051. Reservations are not required and refreshments will be served.

Erie County Legislators Lynne Dixon, Joseph Lorigo, John Mills and Edward Rath, in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension – Erie County, are pleased to announce that two informational meetings to highlight the many exciting programs available through 4-H will be held in November. With an extensive list of opportunities available to youths, ages 5-19, the informational meetings will discuss what programs are offered and how to get involved.

Amherst Garden Walk This Saturday July 21

GARDEN WALK MAPS AVAILABLE

The 3rd annual Amherst Garden Walk is July 21st from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.  There are thirty five gardens to visit in this year's Amherst Garden Walk. Of the 35 gardens, 14 are new this year!

  The maps will be available from the town’s website at http://www.amherst.ny.us or they may be picked up in the Supervisor’s office from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM July 18th through July 20th, 2012.  Maps may also be picked up in front of Amherst Town Hall, 5583 Main Street, Williamsville from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 21st. 

Additionally, maps may also be picked up on Saturday, July 21st after 10:00 AM at 3 Culpepper Road, corner of Maple Road.

This dragonfly hovered and alit on reeds and bamboo in my pond several times. It even stayed long enough for a dash into the house for a camera and a lens change.

 Ben Garelick Jewelers & Menne Nursery Team Up & Give Back For Mother’s Day

The beauty will be two-fold this Mother’s Day as local Western New York businesses, Ben Garelick Jewelers and Menne Nursery, team up for 2012’s Garden of Gems Flower & Jewelry Show. The second annual Garden of Gems event will begin on Thursday, May 10, and run through Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13, at Ben Garelick’s store located at 5001 Transit Rd., Williamsville, 14221. With live floral arrangements provided by Menne paired with exquisite jewelry designs from Ben Garelick, this special campaign will honor WNY Moms with inspiring and dazzling jeweled bouquets and most importantly, donate a portion of the proceeds to the Joan A. Male Family Support Center.
