Cooking Event at Wegmans on Sheridan Dr. "Stir Fry-Wok This Way" on 3/31

Cooking Event at Wegmans on Sheridan Dr. "Stir Fry-Wok This Way" on 3/31

Mastering the Basics--Stir Fry: Wok This Way with Chef Jeff Lunney

We’ll begin with a chef demonstration of preparing ingredients and our stir-fry technique, and you’ll get to sample Pad Thai Shrimp Bowl with Peanuts. The class will break into teams of two or three to work on their dishes. Each half of the class prepares one recipe that’s enough for everyone in the class. That way you’ll enjoy everything made, as well as a wine sampling to complement your meal.  Class prepared menus include Spicy Orange Pork Stir Fry, Lemon Grass Beef Stir Fry, and chef-prepared rice.

Want to master the basics of other cooking techniques? We have a series of 3! Mastering the Basics makes a great holiday gift for kitchen newbies, newlywed couples or budding food enthusiasts.

Amherst Chamber to Host Workplace Wellness Seminar

Amherst Chamber to Host Workplace Wellness Seminar

On Wednesday, March 30, 2011, BlueCross & BlueShield will be presenting the informative seminar “Building a Collaborative Health Management Strategy” at the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, 350 Essjay Rd., Suite 200 in Williamsville.  The program will run from 5pm – 6pm, discussing how you can ‘put healthy on your payroll.’

Healthy workers result in a more productive, more profitable workplace.  Healthy employees typically take less sick days and are more productive while in the office.  A side benefit is reduced employee health benefit costs for employers.  Doesn’t it make sense to invest now in a healthy workplace program, saving time, money and energy down the road?

Here’s what the mom of five had to say:
