Catholic Charities WIC Program Offering Free Nutrition Workshops throughout September

Catholic Charities Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program hopes to help take the guesswork out of nutrition for toddlers and young children by hosting four free one-hour workshops throughout September in Niagara County focusing on portion size, healthy snack options, child-friendly recipes, how to handle ‘picky eaters’ and the importance of physical activity. The first workshop is Monday, Sept. 8 from 10-11 a.m. at the Community Health Center of Niagara Falls, 501 10th St., Niagara Falls.

Additional information about community resources, including WIC, will also be available. Children are welcome to attend and participate in the activities focused on the importance of good health, healthy eating and exercise. All attendees will also receive a free goodie bag.

The remaining three seminars are: Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 10-11 a.m. at Sheridan Parkside Community Center, 169 Sheridan Parkside Dr., Tonawanda; Thursday, Sept. 18 from 12-1 p.m. at Community Health Center of Lockport, 38 Heritage Ct., Lockport; Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 6-7 p.m. at YWCA of the Tonawandas, 49 Tremont St., North Tonawanda.
