Nichols School Senior Signs Letter of Intent to Play Division I Hockey

On Friday, Nov. 12, Emily Pfalzer, a senior at Nichols School, signed a letter of intent to play Division I women’s ice hockey with Boston College. Pfalzer is a resident of Getzville.

“Emily was a standout player on the Nichols girls’ varsity hockey team in both her freshman and sophomore years,” said Rob Stewart, athletic director at Nichols.In those two years, Pfalzer scored 42 goals and 53 assists for a total of 95 points.

In the summer of 2009, she was part of the U18 Women’s Select team that went to Calgary for a three-game series versus Canada. In April 2010, she made the U18 Women’s National team that won a silver medal in the IIHF World Championship in Chicago. In August 2010, she played for U18 Women’s Select team that played Canada in Lake Placid.

Her goal this winter is to make the U18 National team that will compete at the World Championships in Sweden in January 2011.
